Day 1 – Ulaanbaatar City Tour
Upon arrival at the Chinggis Khaan Airport, you will be greeted by our guide where you will be transferred to the hotel, central of Ulaanbaatar. Free and easy for the rest of the day. In the evening, dinner will be had at a local restaurant together with your personal guide – Mongolian Cuisine, introducing the first flavours of Mongolia.
Next, we take a drive up to The Zaisan Hill – Over there lies The War Memorial Statue, which is located in the south side of the Ulaanbaatar City, right beside the Bogd Khan Mountain which boast the best view of the city and the surrounding hills. At the Bogd Khan Mountain, stand a 15m high golden statue of Buddha beside the hill and a memorial statue on the top of the hill honoring soviet soldiers who fought against foreign invaders in the territory of Mongolia and Manchuria in 1939-1945. At noon, we will head to the Chinggis Khaan Square - State Parliament House* where lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
Day 2 - Flight to Gobi Desert – Dalanzadgad and visit to Yol Am
Our guide will meet you in Ulaanbaatar where you will transit to a domestic flight to the Gobi Desert - Dalanzadgad, the capital of Umnugobi. Upon arrival at Umnugobi, the journey continues with a drive to Yol Am. Yol Am is an amazing place where you can even find ice in the summer, that is surrounded by sheer rocky walls that forms incredible canyons. After arriving at Yol Am, you will settle down at a Ger camp, have lunch and will leave the rest of the afternoon free and easy. You may explore around the place on your own or take some time to recover from your distant travels. Dinner will be served at the camp.
Day 3 - Famous Red Flaming Cliffs of Bayanzag
The day’s journey begins after breakfast with a drive to the archeological site of Bayanzag, also known as a Flaming Cliffs. The first nest of dinosaur eggs were first discovered found in 1922 at this famous site along with many remains of dinosaurs. Soak in the REAL Jurassic moment where dinosaurs once roamed over 60 million years ago. Other things to look out for are the Saksaul trees and other classic desert vegetation. All meals are freshly made by the locals traveling with you at the Ger camp. In the evening enjoy the nature of being in the wide open desert wilderness.
Day 4 - Famous Red Flaming Cliffs of Bayanzag
After local breakfast, we will drive to Bayanzag, (known as a Flaming Cliffs where the first nest of dinosaur eggs found in 1922) a site famous for the remains of dinosaurs, which lived here 60 million years ago. You can walk around where dinosaurs once roamed and see saksaul trees and other classic desert vegetation. You will have local food for lunch and dinner as well in Ger camp. In the evening enjoy the nature and stay overnight in the camp.
Day 5 –Departure to Ulaanbaatar, City tour to Gandan Monastry, War Memorial Statue, Chinghis Khan’s Square & Parliament House
Make your way back to Ulaabaatar and upon arrival into the Chinggis Khaan airport, your guide meet you at the arrival hall and you will be transferred to your hotel. Free and rest after starts city tour to The Gandan Monastry is the largest and most significant sighs. Built in the mid 19th century and it currently has over 200 monks in recidence. The Migjid Janraisag Temple is an import part of Gandan Monastry. The temple houses features a 26-meter-high majestic gilded statue of Migjid Janraisag. And head to Chinggis Khaan Square- State Parliament House. Chinggis Khaan’s Square & Parliament House – lies at the heart of the city surrounding by theaters, government buildings and banks. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 6 – Visit to Winter Palace of Bogd Khan and explore the local shops
After your breakfast in the morning, drive to Winter Palace of Bogd Khan Museum. The complex was build between 1893 and 1903 dedicated to the 8th Bogd Javzandamba, the head of Mongolian religion. The palace museum consists of seven Summer Prayer temples and the winter palace. The collections of the museum include unique and valuable objects related to Mongolia’s political, religious, and artistic history from the 17 to early 20th centuries. Next, we will head back to the main streets of the city centre filled with art and antiquity shops where some time would be catered for shopping, followed by lunch at a local restaurant. The tour of UB ends with our tour guide sending you off to your next destination (depending on the plans – either to the Airport or the next destination)
