Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Ulaanbaatar City Tour
Upon arrival at the Chinggis Khaan Airport, you will be greeted by our guide where you will be transferred to the hotel, central of Ulaanbaatar. Free and easy for the rest of the day. In the evening, dinner will be had at a local restaurant together with your personal guide – Mongolian Cuisine, introducing the first flavours of Mongolia.
Next, we take a drive up to The Zaisan Hill – Over there lies The War Memorial Statue, which is located in the south side of the Ulaanbaatar City, right beside the Bogd Khan Mountain which boast the best view of the city and the surrounding hills. At the Bogd Khan Mountain, stand a 15m high golden statue of Buddha beside the hill and a memorial statue on the top of the hill honoring soviet soldiers who fought against foreign invaders in the territory of Mongolia and Manchuria in 1939-1945. At noon, we will head to the Chinggis Khaan Square - State Parliament House* where lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
Day 2 – A long the way to Terelj National Park drop by The Chinggis Khaan Statue and 13th Century Live Museum and than head to the Ger camp in Terelj National Park.
Day starts with the journey towards Terelj National Park. This park comprises of splendid mountain ranges, pristine water rivers and caves and wonderful green meadow with edelweiss, Explore ovoo-pile of stones for nature worshipping, cave, small mining research hole, Turtle shaped original giant rock. Along the way, visit the Chinggis Khaan Statue and 13th Centurey Live Museum. Lunch at the tourist camp before heading back to the Ger camp/hotel in Terelj National Park. Enjoy the surroundings and dinner will be served at the resort restaurant.
Day 3 – Tour in Terelj National Park visit Turtle Rock and Aryabala Buddist meditation temple.
The full day of tour awaits. At 9 am, your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby and drive to the Turtle Rock. Next, a visit to the Aryabala Buddhist meditation temple - surrounded by scenic mountains with massive rock formations and sits at top of the mountain. The distance between the gate and the actual temple is about 1 km and it is only accessible by walking, Explore the center with a stunning hike from crossing the short trail bridge to stepping 108 stairs. Trekking around the temple and photographing good spot, Walking in the hills exploring the nature beauty.
Day 4 – Learn to shoot a traditional Mongolian bow and arrow and visit local family
Learn how to hunt like a true nomad! Be taught and guided by local nomads on hunting trails and let them show you the tradition of hunting. You will have a go at shooting some targets! Visit a local family and have dinner prepared and served by the family. Enjoy the hospitality of the local nomad.
Day 5 – Drive back to City, Tour (The Gandan Monastry, War Memorial Statue, Chinghis Khan’s Square & Parliament House)
After Breakfast, we will slowly make our way back to Ulaanbaatar City. Our City tour starts with a visit to The Gandan Monastery. This largest and significant sights was built in the mid-19th century and it currently house over 200 monks. The Migjid Janraisag Temple is an important part of Gandan Monastry. The temple house features a 26m high statue of the majestic Migjid Janraisag. After the visit, we will head to Chinggis Khaan Square- State Parliament House.
Chinggis Khaan’s Square & Parliament House – lies at the heart of the city surrounding by theaters, government buildings and banks. There is a bronze statue of Suhkbaatar astride hsi horse, who is hero of the revolution, declared Mongolia’s final independence from the Chinese. The square now features. Another place of interest is the large bronze statue of Chinggis Khaan and his four warriors, seated in the front of Parliament House.
Day 6 – Visit to Winter Palace of Bogd Khan and explore the local shops
Breakfast followed by check-out, we start the day at the Winter Palace of Bogd Khaan Museum. The complex was build between 1893 and 1903 dedicated to the 8th Bogd Javzandamba, the head of Mongolian religion. The palace museum consists of seven Summer Prayer temples and the winter palace. The collections of the museum include unique and valuable objects related to Mongolia’s political, religious, and artistic history from the 17 to early 20th centuries.
Next, we will head back to the main streets of the city centre filled with art and antiquity shops where some time would be catered for shopping, followed by lunch at a local restaurant. The tour of UB ends with our tour guide sending you off to your next destination (depending on the plans – either to the Airport or the next destination)
